Much Warmachine still to paint, and altho' the Sand Scorcher's cleaned and assembled (photos soon) I need to get new electronics and take it for a spin. With all of that looming ahead I felt the only thing to do was to complicate things further by having a crack at Historical. Bought the Anglo-Danish and Viking 4 point armies from Gripping Beast's SAGA range as well as the rule book. Will be making my own dice! Rules look intriguing, so I will be trying them out and sending Mr Smith to Valhalla a week Saturday...

If Carlsberg made wargames...

Probably one of the best games ever. Or for a while at any rate. 50 points apiece, lots of new troops and 'casters. Harkevich v Xerxis. Assault Commandos v Cetrati, Bombadiers V Canoneers. Some fun with deviation with Khador blowing up it's own Flame thrower attachment which in turn threatened blast damage to other Khador troops. V amusing! Skorne were v. smug after round 2, but literally shittin' bricks after round 3 after H's feat. Points-wise it was pretty even, but H was killed by the Brute and the Canoneer during X's feat. Khador heard to be muttering something about the result being different if the dice had been better for the Kovnik - but I'm not so sure...

First game of the new year, and a win to Al, although it was close. Tim played Sorscha's army as in the last game but Al played an all Merc party under Magnus with Halberdiers and Trenchers. No additional bonds made. Al 13, Tim 12.

Played some time ago, didn't post. Tim won (he'll have the date as he took pics of the carnage). Khador causalities under caster Sorscha; the Beserker, I was trying out Magnus as a Skorne minion, casualties; Mariner, Gobber and 4 Pretorians. Much damage to the Skorne/Mercs from the Rocketeer!
