Space Hulk

Need to get back into doing proper logs....but played the prequel from White Dwarf, a win for my stealers, but only after Michael's  Marines made it in the elevator to level 2. Played with the 2014 rules and the additional tiles/counters, snapped up for less than you'd think off flea-bay. Played Mission 1, again as the stealers. Still have much to learn and finally got hammered (particularly by the sarge with the Thunder-hammer). Need to create a swarm for maximum effect rather than trying to go head to head with each of the marines, especially anything more than a grunt with a bolt-gun. Learnin' curve as they say...

Space Hulk

Yikes, it's been a while. Played Michael  before the Summer Break and on Thursday at Space Hulk. I played Marines the first time, got my ass kicked. He played Marines on Thursday, I beat him, but twas a little closer this time.

Dirt Off Your Shoulder. Blood Bowl, Thursday 5th June

Game 3, and still playing the Empire's Finest I receive the ball. 

 After losing a blitzer coz of the ref I'm keeping out of his way. However, just because your not interested in the ref, doesn't mean he's not interested in you!!

 Michael's going to tie me up on my right flank, my catcher on the left seems to have space, but i'm sure he's got something up his sleeve...

 he double blocks me, but a double 1 starts a series of poor roles for both of us and stuns a blitzer and a lineman and sends them to the dugout.

 Whilst Michael's unsuccessfully trying to masacre my right flank I break through the left with a catcher supported by Sumo Sam, my Man of the Match, but it looks like I'm going to have to hoof the ball. However the dice are kind and I get my catcher up to the touchline, I've played this one, what could possibly go wrong?

  The second Snake Eyes of the match and I've fluffed the kick, $%!*±!

  ...and we're both down.

Michael's up and it's only;y the half-time whistle that stops him scoring. I do take the opportunity to deliver a vicious foul on the right flank. We can't see it, and neither did the ref. Michael shows a reluctant approval of these vicious tactics, he'd do the same himself.

Second half

 ... and I've got him cornered with some defensive players positioned if he breaks through.

 ...which he doesn't...

 ...until suddenly...

 ...but then...

 ...Ouch!..

 ...and a quick long bomb leaves my catcher with a clear run to Victory.

Empire 1 : Orcs 0

BloodBowl, Thursday 15th May

My second game and I realise that the old adage is certainly true. When it comes to Blood Bowl there are only two types of people, those who love Bloodbowl and those who have not played it yet. Again I play the Empire's finest against some dastardly Orcs and win the toss, oooer misses, choosing to kick-off.

 This time there's a ref and one of my Blitzers is red-carded before  Michael's  thrown a dice.

 Business as usual

 My catcher finds himself with the ball and risking a sprint I make touchdown whilst Michael tries to destroy the remainder of my team by fair means and foul.

 

 I start to feel my way and, whilst avoiding the ref open opportunities on both sides of the field

 My kicker punts it into the far left and Michael grabs it, but a multiple block means the ball's fumbled and lands in my catchers hands.

  2:0 to the Empire's finest!

Another beating for the Danes. Beserkers and bad dice. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
